CHICAGO — Two teens were shot Thursday night near Riis Park in Belmont Cragin, police said.

Around 5:45 p.m., the teens were approached by a man in the 6300 block of West Fullerton Avenue who began shooting at them, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

Both teens were shot in their chest and taken to Loyola Hospital in critical condition. A 16-year-old boy was later pronounced dead while a 15-year-old boy was still in critical condition early Thursday, Estrada said.

Jose Neri, 16, of the 2900 block of North Normandy Avenue in Montclare, was pronounced dead at 7:07 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

No one is in custody for the shooting.
