CHICAGO — A man was found dead after chasing a ball on to CTA tracks at Harrison Red Line Station early Monday, officials said.
The man was discovered unresponsive on CTA tracks in the 600 block of South State Street around 12:36 a.m., said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The Tribune said the man was 61.
The man had been trying to retrieve a large ball from the tracks when he struck the electrically charged third rail, FOX32 reports.
Police are conducting a death investigation following the incident, Pacheco said.
