CHICAGO — Officers shot and injured a person after pulling over a car in Roseland Friday afternoon, police said.
Around 4:03 p.m., gang investigations officers attempted to stop a car in the 10600 block of S. Cottage Grove Ave. after receiving intelligence that someone in the car was a wanted criminal, according to a police statement issued Friday evening.
After officers stopped the car, a person inside pointed a gun at police, and an officer took aim and fired, according to police.
A witness at the scene told DNAinfo Chicago that a man was shot and taken to Christ Hospital.
Police said the person was placed into custody, that a gun was recovered at the scene and there were no injuries to officers.
