One Dead, Three Wounded Since Wednesday Morning

CHICAGO — One man was killed and three others were wounded in shootings across the city since Wednesday morning, police said.

Around 1:15 p.m., a 36-year-old man was fatally shot in Chatham.

Most recently, a 27-year-old man was shot in Austin around 9:40 p.m. Wednesday. The man was walking in the 1600 block of North McVicker Avenue when a red SUV drove out of an alley and someone inside fired shots, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was shot in the left leg and taken to West Suburban Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Estrada said.

Around 1:12 p.m., a 27-year-old was shot in the leg and foot while walking in the 300 block of West Garfield Boulevard in Fuller Park. He was taken to St. Bernard Hospital in good condition, Estrada said.

Around 12:24 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in the head while driving in the 7900 block of South Artesian Avenue in Ashburn. The man continued driving until he hit a parked car in the 2400 block of West 80th Street, Estrada said.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, Estrada said.

No one is in custody for any of the shootings.
