Morgan Park Shooting Leaves Man Dead Tuesday

CHICAGO — A 22-year-old man was killed during a shooting in Morgan Park late Tuesday, police said.

Around 10:45 p.m., the man was driving in the 11100 block of South Hamlet Avenue when he was shot in his abdomen by a man in a black SUV, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was taken to Christ Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Pacheco said.

He was identified as Avery Williams, of the 10400 block of South Church Street. He was pronounced dead at 11:48 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

No one is in custody for the shooting.
