Forest Glen Woman Named to Local Girl Scouts Hall of Fame

FOREST GLEN — A Forest Glen woman who has volunteered with the Girl Scouts was one of 10 women to be inducted this year into the organization's local Hall of Fame, officials said.

Madelon Koerner, of Forest Glen, was inducted into the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana's Hall of Fame, officials said.

Those named to the hall must be an adult member for at least 25 years, deliver extraordinary services and had a long lasting impact on the Girl Scout organization or the community, officials said.

The organization also honored Patricia Boyle, of Belmont Cragin, for 40 years of service to Girl Scouts.

In addition, Deborah Bielski, of Norwood Park, and Marianne Strumberger, of Forest Glen, were recognized for 30 years of service. The organization also honored Dawn Desecki, of Forest Glen, was honored for 25 years of service.

Adult volunteers with the Girl Scouts maintain the organization's legacy and help develop leaders that will shape the future, officials said.
