CHICAGO — The city hopes to get the newly transformed riverwalk booming this weekend after announcing a full lineup of activities along the stretch beginning Friday for Downtown Workers Appreciation Day.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel's office announced Wednesday morning that from June 26-28, special events including yoga, kids' activities, live music, boat runs and bridge lifts will take place along the waterfront stretch from Lake Shore Drive to LaSalle Street.

There will be food, water taxi rides, biking, kayaking and boat rentals along the riverwalk, according to a press release.
