By Darryl Holliday | June 19, 2015 8:03am

LOGAN SQUARE — Galerie F will unveil “the reprise” of its popular Fantastic Mr. Dahl exhibition on Friday featuring 20 takes on childhood memories.

The second installment of work dedicated to the popular children’s book author, Roald Dahl, opens June 20 at Galerie F, 2381 N Milwaukee Ave., according to an announcement from the Logan Square gallery.

The BFG by Drew Millward was among 20 Roald Dahl tribute pieces featured in the first installment of "Fantastic Mr. Dahl" in 2013.

The art homage covers a range of Dahl’s work from short stories, adult fiction and the classic children tales that for years has taken kids around the world in a floating peach and down to Giant Country.

Contributing artists for the two week exhibit include Dave Perillo, Phineas Jones, Adam Hanson, Jay Shaw, John Vogl, Dan Grzeca, Delicious Design, Godmachine, Mark Hammersmeister, Sarah Schatz of Burlesque, Anne Benjamin, Mike de Pippp, Jason Abraham Smith, James Eads, Nimasprout [Nicole Gustafsson], JC Richard, Andrew Ghrist, Lisa Wakiyama, Justin VanGenderen, Zeb Love, Michael Lauritano, Jc Rivera, Mosher Street Art, Laura Szumowski.

The exhibit’s first installation in 2013 collected artists from all over Europe who each picked a book or story by Dahl and then created an original illustration for it. The exhibit marked the one-year anniversary for Galerie F, which describes itself as the first "open-door" gallery in Chicago, meaning people can walk in and peruse the art without an appointment.

An opening reception will be from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and online releases for the work begin on Monday, June 22 at 2 p.m. through Thursday, June 25.
