MCKINLEY PARK — Residents of the 12th Ward are invited to bike through the ward's neighborhoods at an event Saturday.
Ald. George Cardenas (12th) will host the 12th annual Bike the 12th Ward event from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at the McKinley Park Field House, 2210 W. Pershing Road.
Adults and kids 11 years old and up are invited to bike the seven-mile route. After leaving the filed house, bikers will head West on Pershing Road, turning north on Albany Avenue to 35th Street, then head east to Archer Avenue, then south on Paulina Street and east on Pershing Road back to McKinley Park.
The ride, previously known as Bike the Boulevard, is free and open the the public.
After the ride, community organizations and local businesses will host a party with food, drinks and a bike raffle.

The 12th Ward includes parts of the McKinley Park, Brighton Park and Little Village neighborhoods.
