CHICAGO — A 58-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of another man Sunday night in Uptown after what Ald. James Cappleman (46th) said was an argument over socks.

Ross Feiwell is accused of stabbing a 49-year-old man during an argument about 9:45 p.m. in the 4400 block of North Broadway.

The victim, identified as Thomas Sawyer, was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, police said. Sawyer died of a stab wound in his neck, the morgue said.

Feiwell was scheduled to appear in bond court Tuesday.
