WEST TOWN — One of summer's most eclectic and locally-focused festivals, West Fest — which offers a pet fest, kid fest, live art making and a dedicated DJ stage — announced its full music lineup on Monday.

Set for July 11-12, West Fest takes place along Chicago Avenue between Wood Street to the east and Damen Avenue to the west.

West Fest expects to draw 60,000 revelers and will host over two dozen bands and DJs on two stages, organizers said.

"Unlike some of the other summer fests, the emphasis at West Fest is 'local,' from the food to the retail vendors to the music programmers," said Kara Salgado, executive director at the West Town Chamber of Commerce.

Kid Fest Stage
Organized by Talcott Fine Arts and Museum Academy, the kids area will offer train rides, bouncy houses, bean bag toss, ring toss, balloon darts, football toss, bottle toss, photo booth, an obstacle course and a family-friendly lineup of entertainers.  Proceeds raised by the Kid Fest benefit Talcott Fine Arts and Museum Academy, which also receives 15 percent of the event proceeds.

The Pet Fest
Organized by local animal rescue nonprofit groups and pet-related vendors, well-behaved leashed dogs can enjoy a dog wash fundraiser.  Pooches can also express their "inner animal creativity with paw painting, bandana tie-dying and basic training from local dog trainers," organizers said. Canine Crews sponsors the Pet Fest area with Green Dog Inc. and Doggy Style Pet Shop.
