A one-bedroom, one-bath, 550-square-foot condo loft in an “artist community” building in Logan Square just hit the market for $174,900.

The condo at 2418 W. Bloomingdale (Suite 212) is near several coffee shops, restaurants, shops, schools and the brand new 606 network of parks and trails.

Melissa Stanley with Niche Realty is listing this unit, and says that while the building is “geared toward” artists, the definition of artist is very broad. It is not meant for individual living only; families are welcome.

“This building is really unique,” Stanley says. “This building was developed in 2003 by a not-for-profit and a few artists who wanted to create their ideal community. And there is a condo board approval process for new homeowners. However, their definition of artist is pretty broad, and families do live in the building.”

The whole building has live/work zoning. Features inside the unit for sale include exposed brick and hardwood floors for that true loft.

Other building amenities include a sun deck, storage room, party room and coin laundry room.
