SAUGANASH — Northwest Side residents who need a few stitches or who are worried they might have broken a bone — or two — will be able to go a Swedish Covenant Hospital immediate care clinic once it opens this month, officials said.

"As a longtime resident of Edgebrook, I am pleased about this opportunity to expand our services into Sauganash and surrounding neighborhoods like Edgebrook and Lincolnwood," Swedish Covenant Hospital President and CEO Mark Newton said.

The clinic at 6141 N. Cicero Ave. will treat non-life threatening illnesses and injuries including the flu, minor burns and animal bites, officials said. Children ages 1 year and older can also see a pediatrician, officials said.

The clinic will also conduct physicals, administer vaccines and feature a lab and X-ray machines, officials said.

The immediate care center will be open 8 a.m.-8 p.m. weekdays and from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on the weekend. Walk-in appointments will be accepted, officials said.

Swedish Covenant plans to open another immediate care clinic at 2019 W. Irving Park Road in North Center in July, officials said.
