One Killed, Four Wounded in Shootings Since Thursday Morning, Police Said

CHICAGO — A 26-year-old man was killed in McKinley Park and four people were wounded in shootings since Thursday morning including a 15-year-old boy shot in North Lawndale, police said.

Around 7:15 p.m., the boy was walking on the sidewalk in the 1300 block of South St. Louis Avenue when a bullet grazed the top of his head, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokesman.

After being shot, he ran to the 1200 block of South St. Louis, where police were notified. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, Sedevic said.

Most recently, a 23-year-old man was shot multiple times in Austin. Around 8 p.m., the man was outside in the 1000 block of North Lawler Avenue when he was shot in his buttocks and arm, Sedevic said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai in fair condition, Sedevic said.

A 17-year-old boy was hit in his left hand when shots were fired from a passing red car in the 7800 block of South Trumbull Avenue in Ashburn around 5:25 p.m., Sedevic said.

The boy was taken to Christ Hospital in good condition, Sedevic said.

Around 3:30 p.m., a 25-year-old man was shot in Woodlawn.
