Thrill Rides, Beer Tents, More: St. Barbara Carnival Starts Thursday Night

BRIDGEPORT — The carnival is coming to town.

St. Barbara Parish will host its four-day carnival Thursday to Sunday at 2859 S. Throop St. The city will shut down a slice of Throop Street between Archer Avenue and Lyman Street.

There will be carnival games, snack stands loaded with treats, beer tents, grilled food and 10 rides for every thrill level. Unlimited ride tickets cost $25.

The famous St. Barbara's "Split the Pot Bingo" will happen Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and the carnival will be packed with raffles, jar booths and pull tabs throughout the weekend.

The parish has booked several bands for free entertainment all four days. Here's a look at who's playing:

Thursday: DJ Marc Wrobel, 6-10 p.m.

Friday: And Beyond, 8:30-11 p.m.

Saturday: Cowboy Jukebox Band, 9-11 p.m.

Sunday: Flashback 45, 2-4 p.m.; The Cavern Beat, 6-8 p.m.

Here's the carnival schedule:

Thursday: 6-10 p.m.

Friday:: 6–11 p.m.

Saturday: 6–11 p.m.

Sunday: 1-9 p.m.

For easy access to the carnival, you can ride the Orange Line to Halsted.
