LOGAN SQUARE — “Die-hard” neighborhood explorers and casual Logan Square locals are up for a challenge this weekend when a scavenger hunt comes to town.

Come prepared to figure out some tough Logan Square-specific clues for a cause Saturday, June 6 at 1 p.m. as Blue Sky Bakery & Cafe, a nonprofit organization that provides transitional employment to at-risk youth, partners with Bang Bang Pie Shop to test your knowledge.

“We're going to have a mix of things that only diehard locals might recognize … and some clues that a bit of Googling could answer,” according to Blue Sky director Lisa Thompson.

Questions involve a range of clues from recognition of Logan Square buildings and monuments to finding local businesses that sell a particular combination of Chicago-made goods, Thompson said.

The scavenger hunt begins at 1 p.m. at Bang Bang Pie Shop, 2501 N. California Ave., and ends at Logan Square’s Emporium Arcade Bar, 2363 N. Milwaukee Ave., where participants can pick up drink tickets and enjoy sweet and savory treats from Blue Sky at 4 p.m.

Individuals can compete separately or in a team, but each participant will need their own Blue Sky Bakery and Cafe fundraiser ticket, which can be purchased here. Tickets are $35.00 and include $10 in drink tickets at Emporium.

Prizes include goods from Threadless, Cellar Door Provisions and D'Noche and all proceeds from the event will provide supportive, transitional employment to homeless and at-risk youth in Chicago.
