LINCOLN PARK — After four short years at the corner of Armitage and Halsted, Rustic House is set to close this weekend.

Ryan O'Donnell, the owner of the restaurant and sister restaurant Gemini Bistro, said he had no intention of closing but was approached by a buyer.

"I got an offer I couldn't refuse. The business is doing fine," O'Donnell said. "It's a good thing. We had a good run."

O'Donnell declined to name the buyer of the restaurant, 1967 N. Halsted St., but said it was a restaurant group.

"This is nothing but good news," he said.

Ryan O'Donnell and his wife Anna announced the closing on social media, thanking their customers.

"We have had a wonderful 4 years during which time we have had the honor of cultivating an amazingly loyal clientele and garnering many accolades," the O'Donnells wrote.

The closing of Rustic House will free up O'Donnell to focus on an upcoming project that he is partnering on with restaurateur Billy Lawless, owner of The Gage.

O'Donnell and Lawless are 50/50 partners on the new concept that is slated for the Southport Corridor in Lakeview.

They recently purchased a property in the area and are planning a bar/restaurant for the space.

As for O'Donnell's nearby Gemini Bistro, 2075 N. Lincoln Ave., things are going great. The restaurant had it's best year ever and has no plans to close, he said.
