LINCOLN PARK — Lincoln Central Association's second annual Spring Zing kicks off Saturday morning with a heavy focus on biking this year.

The event aims to bring the neighborhood together and serve as a kickoff to summer.

The many kid-friendly activities include an appearance from balloon artist "A Real Mad Hatter," a guest appearance from Queen Else from Disney's "Frozen" and face painting.

There will also be bike and pedestrian safety lessons provided by a team from Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and Kohl's Cares.

The bike safety team will also distribute safety equipment.

Performance Bikes will be at the event providing bike safety check-ups.

A raffle will feature more than $2,000 in prizes including goods from Whole Foods, Four Farthings, Gemini Bistro, Oz Animal Hospital, Navy Pier, Pilates ProWorks, Geja's Cafe, Summer House, Gepperth's Market, Taco Joint, Cafe Floriole and Glasses Ltd.

The free event starts at 10 a.m. at Lincoln Central Park at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Dickens Street.

This weekend's Kidical Mass bike ride, which takes off from Oz Park at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, will finish its ride at the Spring Zing.
