BRIDGEPORT — The finalists of the Third Coast Festival’s “ShortDocs Challenge” have been selected — and you’ll soon have a chance to vote on a winner.

This year’s challenge generated more than 150 entries worth of 2- or 3-minute radio pieces inspired by the way famed, Chicagoan interviewer Studs Terkel curiously persuaded his subjects to share information.

Show up to the Co-Prosperity Sphere (3219 S. Morgan St.) on Wednesday, June 3, at 7 p.m., and you’ll get to hear the radio documentaries produced by the eight finalists.

Each finalist will present their radio documentaries to the audience. Once every piece is played, attendees can vote on their favorite.

Buy tickets at the door or visit shortdocs.brownpapertickets.com.

Founded in 2000, the Third Coast Festival hosts listening events in Chicago aimed at introducing communities to the power of radio storytelling.
