ROGERS PARK — A barbecue Friday at the United Church of Rogers Park will kick off a summer of anti-violence efforts in the neighborhood.

Neighbors plan to gather at 4 p.m. at the church, at Morse and Ashland avenues, for a barbecue. Then, at 7 p.m., a "positive loitering" walk will step off, as residents stroll through the neighborhood in solidarity against violence.
