JEFFERSON PARK — The Chicago Shakespeare Theater will bring the best of the Bard's work to life at Wilson Park July 31 and Aug. 1 as part of the Shakespeare in the Parks performance series.

The theater troupe will perform "Shakespeare's Greatest Hits" in 17 neighborhood parks across Chicago, officials said.

A specially equipped truck will roll into Frank J. Wilson Park, 4630 N. Milwaukee Ave., and unfold a stage and then a troupe of actors will bring Shakespeare’s most memorable characters life in a "unique and surprising" mash-up of scenes from the bard's most celebrated plays, organizers said.

Performances are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. July 31 and 4 p.m. Aug. 1.

Directed by Dominic Missimi, the performance will include scenes from "Romeo and Juliet," "Macbeth," "As You Like It." The ensemble cast features Jasmine Bracey, Lillian Castillo, Patrick Clear, Ronald Conner, Kyle Curry, Angela Ingersoll, Emma Ladji, Colin Morgan, Steve O'Connell, Sean Parris and Bri Sudia, organizers said.

The play is free, and performances will take place rain or shine.
