CHICAGO — Two shootings early Monday in South Shore left two people wounded and a 28-year-old man dead.

Around 12:10 a.m., police found two gunshot victims in the 7800 block of South South Shore Drive, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

A 28-year-old man was found unresponsive on the ground after being shot multiple times, Sedevic said.

He was identified as Morial Ewing, of the 8100 block of South Bennett Street, and was pronounced dead at 12:40 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

A 29-year-old was found in a hallway shot in his chest and legs. He was taken to Northwestern Hospital in critical condition, Sedevic said.

In the other shooting, around 2:45 a.m., a 24-year-old man was shot in both of his legs and his stomach while walking in the 2900 block of East 78th Place, Sedevic said.

The man was taken to Northwestern Hospital in serious condition. He was uncooperative with police, Sedevic said.
