CHICAGO — Three men were wounded in shootings in the South Side since Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Most recently, a 28-year-old man was injured at 2:56 a.m. Thursday in Chatham, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was standing outside in the first block of East 89th Street when he saw a dark-colored vehicle then heard shots and felt pain, Sedevic said.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition, Sedevic said.

At 10:30 p.m., a 26-year-old man was in the 5900 block of South Carpenter Street in Englewood when someone he knew fired shots, Sedevic said.

The man, who is a documented gang member, suffered a graze wound on his head and was listed in fair condition at Stroger Hospital, police said.

Several hours earlier in Chatham, a 29-year-old man was shot during a robbery, Sedevic said.

Around 11:50 a.m., the man was in the 800 block of East 84th Street when two men walked up and demanded money, Sedevic.

One of the robbers shot the man in his leg, Sedevic said. He was taken to Trinity Hospital where he was treated and released, she said.

The robbers drove away with an unknown amount of money, Sedevic said.
