CHICAGO — A 24-year-old Berwyn man was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon in Back of the Yards, officials said.
Around 1:45 p.m., the man was in the 4800 block of South Winchester Avenue when someone in a red truck fired shots, striking him in the stomach, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
The man was taken to Stroger Hospital where he later died, Cooper said.
Ismael Lopez, 24, of Berwyn, was pronounced before 3 p.m. at Stroger, the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said.
