1 Man Dead, 5 Wounded in Shootings Since Sunday Afternoon

CHICAGO — One man is dead and five were wounded, including two teenage boys, in separate shootings since Sunday afternoon, police said.

• In the most recent shooting, a 24-year-old woman and 25-year-old man were shot on the 5500 block of South Lafayette Avenue in Englewood around 4:50 p.m., said Officer Amina Greer, Chicago Police spokeswoman.

Citing preliminary information, Greer said the woman was shot in the left elbow and taken to St. Bernard Hospital and the man was shot in the buttocks and neck and taken to Stroger Hospital

• Around 2:15 p.m., two teenage boys were shot in Humboldt Park in the 1000 block of North Harding Avenue, said Officer Veejay Zala, a Chicago police spokesman.

A 13 year-old was shot in his knee, and a 15-year-old was shot in his buttocks, Zala said.

The two boys were in an alley when two unknown black men emerged from a gangway and fired shots, striking the victims, Greer said. Both boys were taken to Stroger Hospital.

As of 6:30 p.m. Sunday no one was in custody, Greer said.

• A man was wounded in a shooting in Little Village around 1:15 p.m., Zala said. He was shot in his leg in the 3000 block of South Kedvale Avenue. 

Police later stated the man was 20 years old.

• At 12:45 p.m., a 20-year-old man was shot and killed in East Garfield Park, police said.
