WRIGLEYVILLE — It's the last full day to sign up for the 10th annual Race to Wrigley.

The 5K race is getting a facelift for its 10th anniversary, with a new 10K race also available for the runners.

"We thought it would be fun and maybe a little crazy to add a 10K. We're excited to celebrate 10 years of promoting fitness and raising money for deserving causes in our community," said Connie Falcone, the Cubs Charities vice president of development.

The 10K race will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, with the 5K starting 20 minutes later. Rolling street closures will start at 2 a.m. near the ballpark, then in the neighborhood at 7:30 a.m. The Cubs said streets should be reopened by 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

Ald. Tom Tunney said in an email Clark Street will be closed from Cornelia Avenue to Waveland Avenue at 2 a.m., then the closure will be extended through to Berteau Avenue at 7:50 a.m.

Addison Street also will close at 2 a.m. from Racine Avenue to Sheffield Avenue, which will expand to Ravenswood Avenue at 7:50 a.m.

Southport Avenue will close from Clark Street to Irving Park Road beginning at 7:50 a.m., while Irving Park Road will be blocked from Southport Avenue to Seminary Avenue and to Ravenswood for eastbound lanes.

Portions of Racine, Ravenswood and Waveland will also be closed. The streets will have no-parking signs from 5 to 11 a.m. Saturday.

Last year, almost 7,000 runners raised $70,000 for pediatric patients. Runners who raise at least $1,000 this year will enjoy a victory lap around Wrigley Field.

The 5K timed run costs $45, while the fun run is $40 and the 10K timed run is $55. Runners can participate in a team or on their own. The top fundraising team will receive tickets to the April 29 Cubs vs. Pittsburgh Pirates game, while the top individual fundraiser will receive an autographed Cubs jersey.

All participants will receive a race shirt, refreshments and a beverage at the post-race celebration.

Runners can register until 2 p.m. Friday.
