HYDE PARK — State Rep. Christian Mitchell (D-Chicago) is asking his constituents what he should do about Gov. Bruce Rauner’s proposed budget cuts.

Mitchell is holding a town hall meeting at 6 p.m. April 27 at Bouchet Math and Science Academy, 7355 S. Jeffery Ave. to explain what is happening in Springfield and hear feedback from constituents about how he should respond.

Mitchell is also suggesting that residents who want to contribute to his book drive bring a few titles to the meeting. Mitchell is collecting new and used books for local elementary and middle schools.

Books can be dropped off from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays at at Mitchell’s 26th District office, 449 E. 35th St.
