SOLDIER FIELD — Deadheads shut out of the Grateful Dead reunion shows at Soldier Field now have a chance to go for free.

WXRT-FM (93.1) this week will begin giving away "at least" one pair of general admission pit tickets to the "Fare Thee Well" shows every week leading up to the festival over Fourth of July weekend.

Listeners are encouraged to tune in to the station's morning show with Lin Brehmer and Mary Dixon, who will reveal the "Dead Giveaway" hours on giveaway days. Listeners will be given a keyword to text or enter online when a Dead song is played, and the 931st respondent to each prompt will win a pair of pit tickets.

The radio station plans to give away at least one pair of tickets weekly through June 30. Those who fail to win a giveaway will still be allowed to tailgate before the shows, or can try their luck in California

Visit the station's website for more information.
