Cops Warn of Residential Burglaries on Northwest Side

CHICAGO — Police are warning Jefferson Park residents of several residential burglaries that have occurred in or near the neighborhood in the last two months.

During the incidents, burglars enter the home through a door or window and take cash, electronics and jewelry among other items. The incidents have occurred mostly during the day or early evening hours, police said.

The incidents occurred:

• Between March 22-30 in the 4900 block of North Marmora Avenue

• Around 10:10 p.m. March 31 in the 5800 block of North Major Avenue

• Around 3:15 p.m. April 11 in the 6100 block of West Higgins Avenue

• Between 4:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday in the 5800 block of West Higgins Avenue

Police are warning residents to make sure all windows and doors are locked and to pay special attention to anyone loitering in the area.
