CHICAGO — Three people were killed and two were wounded in shootings on the South and West Sides since Saturday afternoon.

• The most recent shooting was a double homicide in Belmont Cragin.

At 6:35 a.m. Sunday, a 34-year-old woman and a man in his 20s were walking in the 2700 block of North Lavergne Avenue when a car pulled up and a man got out and fired multiple shots, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

The woman was shot in her head and the man was shot multiple times. They were both taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center where they were later pronounced dead, Sedevic.

• A man was found dead in Little Village around 5:19 a.m. Sunday.

• At 12:35 a.m. in West Pullman, a 21-year-old man walked into Roseland Community Hospital with a gunshot wound in his buttocks, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man told police he was walking in the 100 block of West 127th Street when he heard shots and felt pain, Cooper said.

The 21-year-old's condition had stabilized, Cooper said.

• In Austin around 3:48 p.m. Saturday, a 24-year-old man was shot in his shoulder during an argument with another man in the 1400 block of North Massasoit Avenue, Cooper said.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center where his condition had stabilized, Cooper said.

According to police, a 21-year-old man is being questioned in the shooting.
