ENGLEWOOD — A national program that recognizes educators has named Peter Van, a teacher at Lindblom Math & Science Academy’s, 6130 S. Wolcott Avenue, as one of their top 30 innovators.

The PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovator program selected 100 K-12 teachers who bring technology and digital media into their classrooms. The program is in its third year and the educators will be able to participate in a year’s worth of professional development opportunities from PBS Learning Media. That includes virtual trainings, access to premium and exclusive resources, and access to a free PBS TeacherLine professional development course.

Van teaches honors economics, honors civics and advanced placement economics. He also coaches the competitive policy debate team at Lindblom. He, along with the other 29 applicants, will attend an all-expense paid trip to Philadelphia to participate in the 2015 PBS LearningMedia Digital Summit and the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) conference.
