CHICAGO — Police have issued a warning after they say a woman was kidnapped and assaulted near a Pink Line CTA station in North Lawndale.

On Saturday around 8:25 a.m., a woman was leaving the CTA train station in the 2100 block of South Pulaski Road when she was approached by an unknown man, police said in a statement.

The man hit the woman in the back of the head and dragged her to a nearby abandoned building, police said.

According to the statement, the woman suffered multiple injuries.

The attacker was described as a black man with dreadlocks between 20 and 25 years old, 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-11, and somewhere between 140 and 150 pounds. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans and black gym shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 312-747-8380.

The Tribune reported that the 39-year-old woman was held for three days by four men and that she escaped on Tuesday.
