CHICAGO — Motorists should expect delays on the Dan Ryan in the coming weeks as lanes are closed so crews can tear down the 63rd Street Bridge, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Lane closures might occur:

• From 8 p.m.-5 a.m. Mondays-Thursdays

• From 8 p.m. Fridays until 5 a.m. Saturdays

• From 9 p.m. Saturdays until 9 a.m. Sundays

The local lanes will be shut down entirely for 15-minute periods from 1-5 a.m. Mondays-Fridays and 1-7 a.m. Sundays. The express lanes will be shut down at times from midnight-5 a.m. Mondays-Thursdays, from midnight-6 a.m. Fridays and from midnight-7 a.m. on Saturdays.

Lane closures, which started Monday night, will continue until the bridge is torn down, which IDOT hopes to complete by early May.
