PORTAGE PARK — Hands to Help Ministries, which works to provide a safety net for homeless people on the Far Northwest Side and around Six Corners, will host a trivia night.

The grand prize is two VIP tickets to the Pitchfork Music Festival July 17-19, which will feature Wilco and Sleater Kinney, organizers said.

The event is scheduled for 7-11 p.m. May 8 at Irving Park Lutheran Church Gym, 4079 N. Harding Ave., organizers said.

DJ Amazing Grace will provide the music, and food and a cash bar will be provided, organizers said. Raffle tickets are $10.

Admission is $40, but organizers welcome an additional donation of $10 on top of the ticket price. Tickets for a table of eight are $300 and come with a bottle of wine. Teams, small groups and individuals are welcome, organizers said.

Tickets are available online at handstohelpministries.org.

The ministry helps people who are homeless or at risk for homelessness to find and keep housing. That could be as simple as helping folks who are struggling to make their rent payment or keep their lights on, group leaders said.

Last year's trivia night raised $8,000, organizers said.
