LOOP — The next office tower proposed for the Loop looks rather sharp.

New York-based developer Tishman Speyer will present plans for the pointy glass tower it wants to build Downtown at a community meeting beginning at 6 p.m. Monday, April 20, at the Rustle + Roux cafeteria on the second floor of The Franklin, 227 W. Monroe St.

Designed by Chicago-based Krueck + Sexton, the faceted office tower at 130 N. Franklin St. would rise 51 stories and include a large, 20,000-square-foot plaza out front. Plans also call for 190 off-street parking spaces and street-level retail space. The site, once home of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and Henry Crown & Co., is vacant.

The tower is the latest Downtown development going before the public. A community meeting on the supertall Wanda Tower will be held Monday, and River North residents packed a nightclub to hear about two buildings proposed for the corner of Hubbard and Wells streets earlier this month.

Krueck Partner Mark Sexton, a Tishman Speyer spokesman, and Ald. Brendan Reilly (42nd), whose ward includes the development site, did not return messages seeking comment.
