CHICAGO — Police issued a warning to residents after a string of burglaries on the West Side. 

In a series of burglaries in Hermosa, Belmont Cragin, Avondale and South Lawndale, burglars entered homes and apartments through windows or doors and got away with jewelry, cash and other items, police said in a statement.

The most recent burglary occurred Wednesday between 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. in the 2100 block of North Kilbourne Avenue. The other burglaries occurred between March 19 from 8 p.m to March 20 at 8:30 a.m. in the 4700 block of West Wrightwood Avenue; March 10 between 4 p.m to 4:55 p.m. in the 3600 block of West Wolfram Street; and March 9 between 6:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. in the 3000 block of North Kenneth Avenue, police said.
