CHICAGO — Two Chicago Police officers pulled two men from burning car early Friday in Gage Park, police said.

Around 1:20 a.m., officers Peter Gurskis and Hector Fuentes were on patrol when they saw a Chevrolet Aveo traveling north cross over into the southbound lanes and hit a truck in the 5700 block of South Kedzie Avenue, said Officer Michael Sullivan, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The Chevy burst into flames but the officers were able to pull the two men out of the car, Sullivan said.

The men, whose ages were not available, were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where their conditions had stabilized, Sullivan said.
