CHICAGO — A 25-year-old man was shot and killed Wednesday in Belmont Cragin, police said.

At 5:35 p.m., the man was in a fight in the 5200 block of West Fullerton Avenue, said Officer Michael Sullivan, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man tried to run out a back door and was followed into an alley where he was shot in the stomach and wrist, Sullivan said.

The 25-year-old was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead, Sullivan said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office identified the man as Edgar Muneton. He was pronounced dead at 6:24 p.m., the Medical Examiner's office said.

Police said the incident appeared to be gang related.
