CHICAGO — Brad Wolf has no use for tepid karaoke singers.

Wolf is one of three administrators for the Karaoke Chicago Facebook page, which provides weekly detailed schedules for city and suburban restaurants, bars and establishments that provide customers a chance to sing their hearts out.

The Facebook page has about 1,200 followers, and Wolf believes the reason for its loyal support is simple.

"Our popularity is due to the fact that people want to sing and need to know where they can go," said Wolf, himself a professional karaoke DJ. "Karaoke is a release and a great way to wind down after work or play on the weekend. You don't have to be a contestant on any reality TV show to sing karaoke, you just have to love music."

Justin Breen samples a bit of his karaoke skills:

Wolf runs the page with Marty Young, an avid karaoke singer, and Scott Sutton, a retired karaoke DJ. The group receives karaoke listings directly from the places that host the events. Wolf said if you'd like your show listed, email him at KaraokeChicagoSchedule@gmail.com.

Wolf said his favorite places for karaoke in Chicago are Mo Dailey's in Norwood Park, Sidekicks in Irving Park and Trader Todd's in Lakeview.

"We are committed to bringing our members all the most current show information," Wolf said.
