CHICAGO — A road rage incident in Belmont Cragin got out of control Tuesday morning when one driver opened fire on the other, police said.

Around 3:11 a.m., a 30-year-old man got into a car accident with another man in the 5500 block of West Madison Avenue. After the accident, the two got into an argument and the other driver pulled a gun and fired multiple shots at the 30-year-old man as he sat in his car, said Officer Michael Sullivan, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The 30-year-old was shot in his stomach and the shooter drove off, Sullivan said.

The 30-year-old was taken to Community First Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, Sullivan said.

Last week, a violent road rage incident was caught on camera in Rogers Park, with one driver repeatedly ramming the other's car while the second man delivered wild jump kicks and punches.
