Auburn Gresham Man Fatally Shot Saturday identified

CHICAGO — A man shot and killed in Auburn Gresham Saturday has been identified as 30-year-old Alexander Colon, police said.

Around 12:30 p.m., police responded to calls of shots fired in the 8800 block of South Wood Street, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago police spokesman.

When police arrived, they found Colon near his back porch with a gunshot wound in his chest. He was pronounced dead on the scene minutes later, at 12:52 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

No one is in custody, and police are investigating.
