STREETERVILLE — A two-floor Streeterville penthouse that was featured in the hit Fox drama "Empire" is officially on the market for $12.95 million.
The three-bedroom, 9,300-square-foot condominium atop the tower at 415 E. North Water St. includes an indoor basketball court, three saltwater aquariums, and a large wraparound terrace overlooking Lake Michigan, according to a listing.
"Baller is the word to describe it," said listing agent Phil Skowron of @properties.
Skowron said the condo, which also features rare, hand-picked slabs of onyx and a steam room big enough for 30 people, cost $15 million to build and took more than two years to complete.
In addition to "Empire," the property was used during the filming of "Jupiter Ascending," a science fiction movie set in Chicago starring Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis.
"You can't find another penthouse like this in the city," Skowron said.
Cook County property records show a private trust whose beneficiary couldn't be determined acquired the condo in 2008. Skowron declined to identify his client, but said he is selling because his "family and business run more out-of-state."
Skowron said the condo's property taxes total nearly $100,000 annually, and association dues run $6,508 per month. Check out some of DNAinfo's favorite photos of the penthouse below, as well as a full tour in our slideshow.
