LOGAN SQUARE — Weekends at Boiler Room are taking on a classic Sunday treat with local flavors.

The Logan Square bar and restaurant will soon be incorporating hot sauce made with hand-picked and locally-sourced ingredients into their neighborhood famous pizza — in addition to a Bloody Mary special featuring the same sauce.

Co-op Sauce began as a free arts and youth entrepreneurship organization in Chicago. The operation no longer bottles hot sauce in a small art center, but it now has its very own café and retail location in Roger’s Park.

The only thing that hasn’t changed is the way the sauce is made, according to an announcement from Boiler Room, 2210 N. California Ave. The sauce is crafted in small batches with hand-picked ingredients sourced straight from farmers in the Midwest.

Co-op hot sauce takes inspiration from farm-fresh ingredients to create flavors that enhance food, according to the announcement.

Boiler Room will debut their Co-op slice with "chi-racha" cream reduction, a house blend of provolone, mozzarella and parmesan cheeses, sautéed mushrooms, grilled chicken, tomatoes and scallions on Wednesday, March 24th. That’s in addition to an original Bloody Mary mix available Saturday’s and Sunday’s from 12 P.M. to 4 P.M. during brunch.

Make it a 'PBS special,' which includes a slice of Pizza, Bloody Mary and beer back for $8.50.
