JEFFERSON PARK — Olive's Community Garden for the Hungry will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a silent auction and raffle to raise money and awareness.

The community garden at Laramie Avenue and Ainslie Street has grown every year since it started as an Eagle Scout project, and now contributes bushels of fresh produce — including cucumbers, summer squash, peppers and eggplant — the food pantry at the Northwest Church of Christ, 4602 N. Kilbourn Ave., said co-founder Andy Brecklin.

A fundraiser featuring a raffle with prizes of $100, $200 and $300 and a silent auction will take place from 3-6 p.m. April 11 at Rabbit's Bar and Grill, 4945 N. Foster Ave. Raffle tickets are $10.

"We're hoping to raise money and awareness," Brecklin said. "We need volunteers to pull weeds and water."
