Bridgeport Tavern to Host Night of Obscure Music

CHICAGO — Looking to discover some forgotten music? Maria's Packaged Goods & Community Bar might have what you're looking for.

The half liquor store, half tavern will host the Thrift Score: You Can't Judge a Record by its Jacket — Part VI on Sunday in Bridgeport.

From 8 p.m. to 2 a.m, at 960 W. 31st St., DJ Tony "The Luck of Lucien" Medina and special guests will host a night of "incredibly strange music with a special screening of bizarre exploitation films."

During Sunday's event, folks can listen as DJs breathe new life to obscure records from the 60s and 70s. In addition, anyone able to name the artist of a selected track will win a $25 gift certificate to Dusty Groove Records.

The event is free and open to all music lovers, and those interested in uncovering hidden musical treasures.
