CHICAGO — A Chicago Police Office was struck by a car in the South Loop Tuesday night.

Around 8 p.m., the officer was walking in the 1200 block of South Wabash Avenue when a car hit him, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The officer was taken to Northwestern Hospital in good condition. He was treated and released, Sedevic said.

The driver of the car was given tickets for failure to obey police, traffic control aide or fire department order and striking a pedestrian in the roadway, Sedevic said.
