LOGAN SQUARE — Logan Square’s East Room continues a string of popular guest DJ appearances with a live set by OK Go in April.

The Chicago quartet, known for their quirky and elaborate music videos, will perform a free DJ set after their sold out show at the Metro Friday, April 3 along with resident East Room DJs the Boogie Munsters.

Though the band is currently based in Los Angeles, they still call Chicago home, according to an interview with Joonbug in 2011 in which OK Go frontman Damian Kush noted local venues like The Empty Bottle, Metro and Double Door as key outlets in the band's early years.

"As far as the band is concerned, we only have one home town," Kush said. "Chicago had such a close-knit and intense community five years ago when we were here. It's amazing. The Empty Bottle was where it all started for us. We played at the Metro and the Double Door as well. As far as places to hang out, I really loved Lula Café and the Maxwell Street Hotdog Stand."

The weekend event at East Room is free with RSVP and $3 without RSVP but for guaranteed entry guests can purchase advance tickets at EastRoomChicago.com.

Previous guest appearances include DJ Rashad, DJ Spinn, Warpaint, DJ Deeon, Gant-Man, Jammin' Gerald, How To Dress Well, Supreme Cuts, Mike Relm and Macaulay Culkin.
