BEVERLY — The Chicago Public Library's Beverly branch will feature Ellen Levine's "Henry's Freedom Box" as part of its Expressions of Me monthly youth program from 6-7 p.m. on March 9.

Participants and organizers will take turns reading the book aloud at the library at 1962 W. 95th St. The story will then be used as a springboard for creative writing and art projects.

The program is co-hosted by the Chicago Public Library and Strengthening A Nation, a community program based out of Hayes Park in Ashburn.

"Henry's Freedom Box" is a children's book about a slave who mails himself to freedom. The story of Henry Brown's arduous journey in the warehouse crate was selected in celebration of Black History Month.

Registration for the program is available at the children's reference desk in Beverly. For more information, call 312-747-9673.
