'Food Truck Fests' Return to Daley Plaza, Willis Tower

THE LOOP — It might not yet feel warm enough to grab a meal outside, but with warm weather on the horizon, food truck season is officially upon us.

City officials are again hosting "Food Truck Fests" Downtown as Chicago thaws from its long deep freeze. The first festival, which will run through October, began last Friday at Daley Plaza, 50 W. Washington St.

"Chicago is a great place for food, and the food truck fests will contribute to showcasing Chicago's vibrant food culture," Mayor Rahm Emanuel said in a press release.

City Hall debuted the festivals at Daley Plaza last year, and have expanded it this year to Willis Tower, 233 S. Wacker Drive. 

Participating trucks will be announced on the city's Small Business Center's Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram pages. Below are the dates for the festivals:

•March 6, 12, 20, 27

•April 3, 10, 17

•May 1, 4, 13, 26

•June 5, 10, 16

•July 8, 13, 31

•August 5, 18, 28

•Sept., 1, 9, 22, 28

•Oct. 7, 14, 21, 28

Willis Tower

•March 27

•April 24

•May 1, 22

•July 24

•Aug. 28

•Sept. 18

•Oct. 9
