AUBURN GRESHAM — Chicago's very own Common, an Oscar-winning hip-hop recording star, will participate in St. Sabina's African-American lecturers series on March 20.

Lonnie Rashid Lynn Jr., who goes by his stage name, Common, is both an artist and actor. He co-wrote the song "Glory" for the movie "Selma," which just won an Oscar for best original song. He'll speak at the church, 1210 W. 78th Place, at 7:30 p.m.

Recent speakers have included Chicago-born actor and NBC "Blacklist" star Harry Lennix and philosopher and author Cornel West.
